In the Algerian city of Oran, a sudden outbreak of plague forces the inhabitants into isolation and uncertainty. Dr. Bernard Rieux and a small group of volunteers work tirelessly to treat the sick, while others struggle with separation from their loved ones, fear and the harsh restrictions imposed on the city. The Plague by Albert Camus is a powerful novel about human solidarity, suffering, responsibility and the ways people respond when faced with a crisis.
